Dru Yoga is a very gentle yet powerful style of yoga. It combines ancient yogic tradition, handed down over countless generations, with inspiration from contemporary sources. Dru actually translates as ‘still point’. It is the calm in the eye of the storm, the refuge we seek where we can be free from the stresses and strains of our modern world.
One of the main features of this style of yoga is its emphasis on a soft, flowing approach to the physical movements. These gentle movements work with the joints and muscles in a subtle way, removing the blocks in our energy which cause stiffness and aching. Both graceful and potent, it stretches and strengthens our major muscle groups and improves flexibility. However, as it engages not only our body but also our mind and breath, it is as much about inner strength as it is about outer muscles.
A Dru Yoga class gives you a great work-out, a thorough de-stress and a deep relaxation - providing a complete programme for body, mind and emotions. Due to its gentle flowing style, you can enjoy the benefits of Dru Yoga whatever your age, state of health or level of fitness, flexibility and experience.
